So yesterday was a crazy, busy ball of awesome. First I went to vend at the brand spanking new SMUDGE comic expo and have to say it was a blast. I’ve done so many debuting and small indie comic shows and they all have so much heart but have trouble bringing in the shoppers. The organizer, tinaseamonster did an AMAZING job. The venue was fantastic and comic lovers and newbs of all ages were there.
Then I packed up quick and drove down to baltimore to be a part of superartfight ‘s 100th show. I can’t believe how amazing it was. There was a line around the block…twice just to get into the show. So long that we had to push back the start time. My match was great. My opponent was brilliant dressed up as the dude and recreates the entire elbow ski dream sequence. I ended up winning(barely) and was crowned the prom king.
The rest if the show was epic and the announcers were SOOOO GOOD! Anyway I hurt today but I’m so happy.

Folks, we’ve told you that #SAF100 was going to be our biggest event of all time.
We told you to get your fancy clothes – or costumes – ready.
We told you that you’d see an SAF title bout unlike any other with Brandon J. Carr going for title #2 versus Kelsey “Killer” Wailes. We told you that there’d be one of the craziest tag matches, as the so-called Jager Pilots of the Angry Zen Master and…
Super art fight 100 is soon and the barons bout has been announced!

So this past weekend was necrocomicon and wow, what a great show! I was a guest along with super art fight and was vending as spaghetti kiss.
The weekend was a blast, there was music, art, burlesque, good food & drink and of course: SUPER ART FIGHT. We did two shows and although this was a smaller show, people came out and really go into it. There’s nothing better than finding a new show that kicks ass. Special thanks to James Hatton and his wife as well as the green room (yay Kat!!)
Anyway, check out the weekend photo collection featuring new spaghetti kiss customers, cool costumes (love the girl ash from army of darkness!) and tee shirts and a great photo of me and other contenders of super art fight!

My wife, Shawna Pincus, is a talented and skilled Baltimore based potter who has exhibited her work at Artscape, Holiday Heap and many other local and non local galleries and shows.
ANYWAY, if you have a base knowledge in wheel throwing and would like to take a class and learn more advanced techniques from this spectacular local artist, sign up for her 12-week course over at Clayworks over in MT. Washington! If interested, act quickly as the class starts this Sunday!
The class has the instructor listed as Staff but it’s definitely Shawna teaching the class! Feel free to share this if you know someone who may be interested

Just stopped to notice some striking similarities between my mother in law’s water pick and a storm trooper.
Am I crazy or do you see it?

It is an amazing thing to watch my 20 month year old daughter, Amelia develop her speaking skills and build her vocabulary.
She recently learned about Robots (to which I take full credit) but pronounces it “Bobot”. This sketch Is what I can only assume she sees in her head.
It really is a treat to watch and help her grow and some of the stuff that comes out of her mouth is truly funny.

So when I was 10 I went on my first “date” to see ‘the little mermaid’. This past weekend during a slow moment at Katsucon I got a bit nostalgic and got drawing. Well, my brain doesn’t work quite the same 25 years later and this is what you get!

So I’ve been doing super art fight at katsucon for about 5 years now and love that show! The past 3 years have been extra special to me as one person each year has shown up in cosplay that used one of my ties as a part of their cosplay. It’s incredible to see people get this stoked over something I do and incorporate it into something else that they love.
The costumes are always a bit strange…but that’s what makes them awesome. Keep me coming Katsucon (and other cons!!)
